LEXINGTON OF LOVE
Well, well, well. Last week’s Lexington support with Art Brut has got to go down in the top ten-best-times-we’ve ever had (Art Brut, Top of the Pops!). Please don’t ask me to try and remember the rest of the list (Oh alright, Umeå 2006, Arm Wrestling for Artists II, Reading 1992 erm… some others).
AB were simply sensational - they’re putting on better shows and making better records than at any time in their career and, if there was any justice, ought to be headlining Glastonbury every year. We were alright as well (easily Saturday lunchtime in the new band tent awesome at least). Wednesday was Simon’s birthday and the lovely Lexington crowd sang ‘Happy Birthday’ and signed a card for the Young Master. Thank you very much to everyone who put us on, put us up and put up with us afterwards. You’re all amazing.
Also amazing is the very talented Gerald Preston who braved all of Art Brut week and took a load of fantastic photos. Click here to visit his flickr and see some pictures of us looking lovely.
I’M NOT YELLING! By Kimberley Wooster (Bristol, 20 May 2011)
Here are some photos of The Winter Olympics burying The Hatchet in Bristol by the brilliant Kimberley Wooster. You can see more of her work (and turn it into jigsaws, mugs and t-shirts) by clicking here. Amazing! Thanks KW, great job.
SPRING BREAK 2011 - YOUTH GONE WILD!
Your Winter Olympics have been dragging their big box of tapes around the country. Things have been getting pretty wild: pasties, napping, funny colored drinks, more napping, maybe singing a song or too… Check us out. And then join us at The Social in London on Tuesday 3 May and The Hatchet in Bristol on Friday the 20th for more of the same. Go on, it’ll be amazing…
THE WINTER OLYMPICS AT THOMAS BRIGGS - By Kate Hallé
Legendary lenswoman Kate Hallé came down to The Winter Olympics’ secret warehouse HQ to take some photos. Here are some of our favourites. There are loads more over here. Go and have a look at let Kate know how much you like them. Both band and photographer are available for weddings and other functions. Thanks for a great day Kate.
THE WINTER OLYMPICS AT THE WINDMILL BY JANNE TOIVONEN
The other week at The Windmill this happened. Thank heavens, then, that the always amazing Janne Toivonen was there to capture the proceedings on camera film. Great guy, great photographer. You can see more of his images over here. Thanks Janne. See you next year?
