ROTUNDA STRUCK

Freakscene, I Can’t Believe It…

It can’t possibly be a year since we were last in Exeter (our spiritual home) to play at the Cavern. Further, it really can’t be eight (NINE!) years in a row that Andrew Winter Olympics has played there for New Year’s Eve (each year, being moved one day further away from the big night so as to reduce the damage caused by sweaty-singer-songwriting on THE YOUTH of today). But it is true. (I think).
We’re honoured and flattered to be able to extend that run for another year because The Freakscene Christmas party is pretty much the best night of the year in Exeter or anywhere else. This year, we’re thrilled to be playing with the amazing COMPUTERS (playing a set of Christmassy CLASH covers) and the eternally inspirational (and youthful) CUT-UPS.
Seeing as how we’re in such illustrious company, we’ll be drafting in a couple of very exciting guests to play alongside the FULL PROPER TOURING T.W.O. line up. I hope they’ve been practicing just as hard as we have.
There will be all manner of other exciting bands and DJs on too, plus a FREE XMAS GIFT WHEN YOU COME THROUGH THE DOOR!! This show is FREE if you get an invite from the Cavern, or £3 on the Door. DOORS 8-1.

IT’S KISSMASS!
Your Winter Olympics are calling Christmas early this year. Tuesday 7 December is going to be our crazy crazy Kissmass party at the always-amazing Social on Little Portland Street. It’s a recession-ridiculing TWO POUNDS in before 8pm, so why not bust out your suits and ties, slap some make-up on your eyes and come on down?
The night is being put together by our great pals at Panda Power, so expect amazing music, piles of free food and all-sorts of panda-monium (yep, I feel bad for typing it. Sorry) to boot. Email us here for cheap list places.
THE GREAT OUT-TOURS (OXFORD)
People of Britain. Lock up your Little Chefs and batten down your bitter pumps, the Winter Olympics touring party is coming to a town near you.
That’s right, in support of our exciting new record, ‘The Great Outdoors’ (have you bought it yet? It’s on iTunes, Amazon and eMusic) your Winter Olympics are embarking on a string of very special straight-after-work-on-a-Friday-night getting-on-a-bus-and-going-somewhere-noone-knows-your-name rock shows.
The first show of the ‘Great Out-Tours’ series is on Friday 13th of AUGUST (that’s next Friday) in historic Oxford, home of Morse and Swervedriver.

If you would like The Winter Olympics to come to your town too drop us a line at thewinterolympicsband@googlemail.com. We’ll play pretty much anywhere, but remember, it’s got to be a Friday night and it’s got to be straight after work. Here are the details for the Oxford gig:
THE OXFORD WHEATSHEAF
129 High Street, Oxford,
Oxfordshire, OX1 4DF
The Winter Olympics are on at about eight thirty. We’ll be playing with The Dead Jerichos and are hoping to hook up with our great rock mates Alphabet Backwards (who were amazing at the Great Indoors festival last weekend). You should come too.
For those of you from London who want to come along (and you should, it’s going to be amazing) The Winter Olympics’ Mr Ten Percent Jimmy Ketchup is planning a coach trip on ‘The Oxford Tube’. It’s dirt-cheap, runs all night, and coming back from a rock show on it makes you feel a bit like you’re in Def Leppard. Email James at jimmyketchup@gmail.com and he’ll give you details. He’s very friendly and there should be a good few of us going…
See you there then.
