ANIMAL MAGIC

On Friday 17 June (THIS FRIDAY) your Winter Olympics will be spinning the wheels at the Windmill as SPECIAL GUEST DJs for the always-brilliant Backstreets.

Playing live are Vinyl Stitches, Pet Scenes and the, frankly unbelievable, and unrepentantly glam-rock, Orphans. Older (and cooler) readers might recognise the band as the mighty These Animal Men from back-when-I-was-a-boy-and-dinosaurs walked-the-Earth. If it’s possible, they’re even better now than they were then. Really, you should come along.

In honour of our returning heroes (and the excellent support band Pet Scenes) team TWO will be unleashing our soon-to-be-seminal PET SOUNDS DJ Set. Essentially, this means that every record we play will either be about or by an ANIMAL or ANIMAL BAND. At least, that’s the plan. I’m expecting this to last about half an hour after the bands when I stick on EMF’s ‘Unbelievable’ for the third time in a row and drunkenly claim it to be about, “a dog, a bloody unbelievable dog.”

Still. Shouldn’t be boring.

Here’s a link to £4 tickets. If it doesn’t mention the whole ‘Pet Sounds’ thing it’s because I only just thought of it. DEFINITELY going to happen though… I’ll post the setlist here to prove it…

See you there!
